So, uhm. Did you know that it was National Go Topless Day over the weekend? Well it was. And protestors were out marching around Central Park, fighting for their right to bare…uhm..tops.
Now, a little known fact is that it’s totally legal to go topless in New York, thanks to a 1992 Appeals Court Ruling (warning, tons of legalese after the click). So while it might be jarring to see a bunch topless women marching around central park, it’s completely and absolutely legal.
Remember that, sonny, and don’t stare. It’s just plain rude. [Gothamist (Warning, While bare breasts may be legal, they're still very much NSFW)]

I'm absolutely pro-topless, myself enjoying being topless in the hot NY weather. Why just the other day I was walking down the street when an anti-topless man did a walk-by mumbling to me to put my shirt back on. Not cool, people, not cool!
And I don't see nothing great in this. For me it seems a bit stupid to marche and protest for something that is already legal. Besides, I've never felt the desire to show my breasts in public. And I don't want to watch someone else's breasts in the street. I agree that women should have such a right, but I can't understand what do they need it for so much.
