The Vuvuzela hits New York City

Posted by Nigel Chiwaya On June - 18 - 2010

Even if you haven’t been following the World Cup, you’ve probably heard about the Vuvuzela, the South African horn that’s been getting all the attention lately. It’s become South Africa’s version of the bag pipe: a love-it-or-hate-it instrument that has critics likening it a swarm of bees.

Just watch this World Cup highlight to get a sense of the horn in action.

Well, the craze has hit New York, and not New York has not taken kindly to it. The Yankees were the first to strike back when they kicked two Vuvuzela-blaring fans out of the Stadium and banned the horn from games this week.

In the following video, the NY Post takes to horn out onto the streets of the city to see how it stacks up against the other sounds of NYC.
