Social media can be great, or it can be an abyss of spam and stupidity.  Twitter is a prime example of this.  Thankfully, you don’t have to sift through thousands of NYC tweeters to find the good ones, because the Funky Apple is going to do all the work for you!

Every week, we will feature one of the city’s best tweeters, and why we love them.  They might be the best because they are informative or hilarious, or they might be completely random.  Regardless of the reason, you are going to enjoy having them on your timeline!

The first person that came to mind when this column came up is the wonderful @sassycrass.  Aside from just having a great Twitter name, this lady from Harlem is a font of hilarity.  And since the inaugural NYTT post is on a Tuesday, it is more than appropriate to start with Ms. Sassycrass:  She started one of the best recurring trending topics EVER, the literal-LOL inducing #TackyTuesday.  Every week, she features some of the best sartorial mistakes out there, from celebrities to below-average joes.  [See above for an example from today, which almost made me laugh out loud in the middle of class.]  Her non #TackyTuesday tweets are fantastic as well, as she is intelligent and socially conscious.  In short, @sassycrass is one of New York’s Top Tweeters!
