The Funky Apple gave me a lovely welcome, but I just want to tell any new readers a bit about StopNReflect myself:
When I moved to NYC three years ago, I knew I had found my home. I absolutely love it here. One thing did surprise me, however: The abundance of absolutely horrendous outfits. Now I know that there are days when fashion is at the bottom of one’s priorities – I don’t expect people to be perfectly put together every day of the week. I know I’m not. But there is an enormous difference between a lackluster ensemble and one that assaults my senses with its sheer ridiculousness. Only the latter will be showcased here ![]()
I actually started gathering material about a week after I moved here, when I was at the bar with my friend and saw something inexplicable on a girl’s head [see above]. I couldn’t resist, and snapped a picture.
And no, your eyes are not playing horrible tricks on you – that is, indeed, a red leather BELT on her head. An actual belt, huge shiny buckle and all. I was so confused when I saw it – What was she trying to do? Define her head’s waist??
But this type of hot mess is what StopNReflect is all about. Bad fashion choices that might have been prevented with a just a bit of thought and a glance in the mirror before walking out the house.

Her head has just lost a lot of weight recently. Her hair needs the belt to keep her head on.
