If you’re exhausted from Memorial Day weekend and plan on skipping work and sleeping in, make sure you wake up before sunset because today is the first night of Manhattanhenge. It’s the annual event where the setting sun is perfectly aligned with Manhattan’s cross streets. This means you can watch awesome sunsets from virtually any street in Midtown, with exceptional views at 14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd or 57th streets. (Here’s a video of last year’s event if you’re not sure what we’re talking about.) For best results you’ll want to get as far on the east side as possible.
Sunset tonight is at 8:19p.m. If you miss tonight’s event, theres a half-sunset tomorrow night.
