Happy Memorial Day! You’re not reading this, because you’re probably getting some well-deserved rest, but whenever you drag yourself out of bed we’d like to remind you to go outside: it’s going to be a great day today. The forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies, but the temperature will reach 86 degrees and there won’t be a drop of rain in sight. That makes today a perfect day to take in the Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade, visit Governor’s Island, head to the beach or try to wade through one of the city’s public pools.
Oh, and if you’re saying ‘Of course the weather’s great, Nigel, it’s MEMORIAL DAY,’ take a minute to realize that there’s a tropical storm beating up Florida and Georgia right now. Just sayin’…consider yourself lucky while you’re out and about.
