Can you hear me now? Hooray!
Just like it was hinted at last week, cell service finally reached the New York City subway system today. The MTA celebrated the occasion with a press conference at the 14 street and 8 Avenue subway station, one of four stations to get blessed with reception. The other three are:
- 14th Street and 7th Avenue (1, 2, 3 lines)
- 14th Street and 6th Avenue (F, M, L lines)
- 23rd Street and 8th Avenue (E, C lines)
Service is currently limited to T-Mobile and AT&T, so all you guys rocking AT&T iPhones are covered. Verizon iPhone owners need not apply. The MTA plans to expand service to 30 stations within the next year. Welcome to the future. [CBS News]
